It's a multimedia history of America's westward migration, extremely well done and worth every bit of the $12/head. https://archway.org/
The two of us grew up among the original 13 colonies and can tell you all about Ben Franklin, Dolly Madison, and Francis Marion, "The Swamp Fox", of America's 18th Century, but we are dumkopfen regarding the 19th, west of the Mississippi River. This put the whole Oregon Trail thing into a personal frame, taught us there was more than one Trail, and that America's original suffragette was a 16 year old Mormon girl who started her own newspaper to spread her voting-woman ideas.
Unfortunately, our target for this trip will have us leave some of the Westward Ho iconic geography. John finally got Debbie to sit down with a pen and paper to calculate when we need to be near what in order to arrive at the rendezvous with her brother in June. Also, the mountains still think April and May are winter months, so studying some webcams led us to bypass Denver, Gunnison, et.al. --We'll come back.
Speaking of which, why does Denver get all the fame as "Mile High City"? This is one state north of there, yet.
At least we're finally seeing some sign of those mountains we believe are in this part of the country.
Out first step into Utah puts us in Salt Lake City, and we spent three days there.
Next time....
